Present
Simangavole
Simangavole

Simangavole perform the traditional yet powerful Maloya rhythm, the music of the slaves of Reunion island, a French territory located between Mauritius and Madagascar. Maloya can be compared to the American music of the blues, often lyrically reflective and similar in its chant-response structure and has links to Sega, the folk music of Réunion. With lyrics that draw from raw emotion and feeling this high energy performance from the Island divas deliver an unforgettable live experience.

Artistically, he's been called the 'Basquait of the Pacific', painting in a style where an urban street vibe meets traditional island practises, rituals and beliefs.
